About Our Annual Campaign
Our 2008 Annual Campaign raised $102,357, surpassing goal for the third straight year. The campaign raises funds to address some of the most critical needs of Albion-Homer residents. Our goal is to Advance The Common Good - creating a better life for everyone! Undesignated and unrestricted Campaign dollars fund Allocation Grants.

About Our Funds Allocation Process
A committee of community volunteers review all grant applications and attends a presentation by each agency requesting funds. This "allocation committee" then decides on which grant applicants to fund and how much to be funded to each. The committee has a set of guidelines consistent with the priority areas for the communities established through a series of community assessment needs surveys/meetings. The committee funding recommendations are then submitted to the Albion-Homer United Way Board of Directors for final approval.

Workplace Campaign
Some employers organize an annual Workplace Campaign so employees can easily donate to United Way through their employer. Employees can donate via direct gifts (cash, check, money order), credit card, payroll deduction, or they can be billed. Workplace Campaigns are fun, easy to organize, can be run in a business of any size, and benefit our community. Leaders on Loan are individuals who coordinate a Workplace Campaign in their workplace.

Campaign Cabinet
The Campaign Cabinet, which includes a Co-chairs, Division Leaders, and Leaders on Loan, organizes the Annual Campaign. Contact us to volunteer.

  • Online: Secure, easy, convenient. Donate online via United eWay.
  • By Mail: Use a Pledge Form for cash, check, money order, or credit card donations or to be billed.

Edith Kooi Endowment Fund
This fund, established with the Albion Community Foundation, is used for operations and for granting funds to local organizations. Donations to this fund are eligible for a
Michigan Community Foundation Tax Credit.

Planned Giving
Want to leave a legacy? Planned giving options such as bequests, endowment funds, legacy funds, charitable gift annuities, life insurance, charitable remainder trusts and charitable lead trusts are available. You can also leave a gift to United Way in your will. Contact us for details.
